Let The Children Be!

Let The Children Be!

While stepping into parenthood and raising a child, it is evident that many times we as parents start holding a lot of expectations. We aim to nurture perfectionists who are born masters in whatever they do. There is a very little space that we provide them for mistakes and their rectification.
This is all because we want them to have the best of life. We want to see them established and settled. Our intentions while doing so are very pure and selfless and every parent can easily vouch for that.
Little do we know that a child might not take it that way. His ambitions may differ from our expectations. His tastes might not match ours. His interests might vary from what we have in our minds. Our plans might fail of what we had decided for our children. Our strategies of the perfect parenting that we were determined to follow might not fit our plate.
But what if this happens?
Does it mean that we have failed in parenting?… Surely Not!
It is to be realized that children are an individual first and then related to us. The cannot be our mirror images but their behaviours do portray our level of parenting. Parenthood is all about discovering the inner potential of our children and polishing it. It is about helping them to pursue their dreams and passion. It is about assisting them in whatever way we can and they see them rise and shine bright.
Having that said, parenting is a journey of togetherness. We evolve in doing so and get an insight into ourselves. We get to change that instead of asking children to change our levels of expectation and interests. Get our children to stand on their own feet should be the outcome of healthy parenting.
