QS world universities ranking is an online publication of local and global university around the world and is one of the three most widely read ranking over the internet. QS stands for Quacquarelli Symonds that is a British company currently specializing in Education.
This year, seven Pakistani universities have made it to the QS rankings list that ranks the top universities all over the world. All these seven universities included are based in Lahore and Islamabad only.
1. Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS)
2. National University of Sciences And Technology (NUST) Islamabad
3. Quaid-i-Azam University
4. Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lums)
5. Comsats Institute of Information Technology
6. University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore
7. University of Punjab
MIT again has topped the list and has been considered number one amongst 1000 universities around the globe for the 7th consecutive year. This university is also included in one of the five top universities to rank in the top ten in other countries. Apart from MIT, other famous universities that stand famous and renowned are Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Caltech.
Among Pakistani universities, NUST also ranked the as top university in QS ranking in the year 2017 however this year around, it got no mention.
QS is an annual ranking of the top universities that is evaluated after going through a number of factors including academic quality, teacher reputation, student ratio, faculty and other prominent aspects.
