Once a woman was thought to be bound in her home taking care of her children and husband, looking after their health and happiness only. There was no concept like women clubs, hi-tea, kitty parties, and meet-ups. All they were allowed to do was go to their next-door neighbor to engage in talks and back home. Times changes and now women of today are more empowered, and inclined towards engaging with their fellow ladies for constructive discussions and happy celebrations.
There are many groups running on social media now that organize meet-ups to provide women with an opportunity to mingle up and know other spirited women. One such platform is “The Mummy Club”.
Recently, an award ceremony organized by The Mummy Club Karachi caught our attention. So we decided to ask more details about what it actually is, what kinds of events are held under its umbrella and are there other branches in different cities or not.
Manahyl Shafi is the energetic lady who runs The Mummy Club in Karachi. She is an ex-journalist and a working mom who has worked with Express Tribune and Grazia Pakistan before. TMC is an online and offline community of women, who support each other and help mothers in various ways. The aim is to keep building goals together, and checking them off the list as we go!
In case you watch their stories, an awards ceremony was recently held by The Mummy Club. We asked Manahyl what was it about and she told that TMCA 19 was all about celebrating the first year of our club. We wanted to celebrate ourselves by celebrating each other, and the very women that make up the community. The work that women do is plenty, and it was time it was recognized, and celebrated among ourselves. We dressed our best and had a night to remember. So it was basically the first anniversary of the club.
If you believe in supporting fellow women and uplifting their spirits while celebrating happiness together, you can easily join TMC. In case you are wandering, how? You can request for a link to the closed group by messaging on their Instagram
Moreover, The Mummy Club has official representatives in more than 30 countries around the globe. Just sign up, log in and find out about your city/country.
