Hello Kitty is all set to make debut in Hollywood. Initially designed in 1974 by the Japanese company ‘Sanrio’, a year later; Hello Kitty was introduced on a coin purse. It was then brought to the US market in 1976.
In its 45 year history, it is now in the process of being featured in her own Hollywood movie for the first time ever. The announcement was made by Warner Bros, New Line cinema on Tuesday and declared that they have acquired the film rights from the Japanese Company Sanrio. It is yet to be indicated that whether the movie will be animated, hybrid or live in action kind.

In addition to Hello Kitty, Sanrio also granted permission to feature other characters including the cracked egg character Gudetama, the rabbit character My Melody and Little Twin Stars.
According to New Line cinema, it struggled for nearly five years to pursue the movie rights. New Line Cinema, Sanrio and FlynnPictureCo are teaming up for this project. The movie will be made in English language for the world-wide audience.
“I am extremely pleased that Hello Kitty and other popular Sanrio characters will be making their Hollywood debut,” Sanrio founder, president and CEO Shintaro Tsuji said in a statement. “Hello Kitty has long been a symbol of friendship and we hope this film will only serve to grow that circle of friendship around the world.”
Hello Kitty has always been seen on smaller screens and some animated shows. But now when it is set to make its appearance on the bigger screens, it is surely going to be cherished by all.
