#BoycottBeaconHouse is trending on Twitter for spreading anti-Pakistan sentiment among students

Private schools in Pakistan often face criticism from parents and students alike – for their exorbitant fee structures, their ‘too liberal’ policies, their ‘too conservative’ mindsets and more.

However, for the last couple of days the BeaconHouse School System (BSS) has been under fire on social media for allegedly provoking anti-Pakistan sentiment after an image of a Pakistan Studies exam paper at the school went viral:

The question highlighted spurred the uproar since it states that India won against Pakistan in the 1965 and 1971 wars.

Whaaaaatttt????

Since then the hashtag #BoycottBeaconHouse has been trending on Twitter and proponents of the cause keep presenting ‘evidence’ of the number of incidents that have been mis-reported in our own History books.

They have accused the school for being ‘India-funded’ since they are portraying India’s version of our ‘defeats’ – labelled by them as an utterly anti-Pakistan sentiment.

And then the Pandora’s Box opened…

And people accused schools affiliated with BSS, like The Educators, of misrepresenting Kashmir’s position and occupation:

And going so far as to say that the system is funded by India:

And went on to rave against a History book about Pakistan written by an ‘anti-Muslim’ and ‘anti-Islam’ ‘foreigner’ being taught to Pakistani schools in Pakistan:

Ohhhh…the nerve!!!!

And how ‘anti-Pakistani’ and ‘anti-Islam’ values were being taught in the school.

And then there were those who praised BSS for FINALLY teaching students the truth:

Of course, some didn’t agree…

And called for serious action and investigation against the school for ‘misleading’ students:

So far, the viral movement has not been acknowledged or addressed by the government or the school itself.

So, we’ll hand it over to you:

Do YOU agree with the viral movement #BoycottBeaconHouse?
