Bahria Town, Karachi, has once again opened its doors to provide much-needed entertainment to the people of the city of lights. A day and night zoo, called ‘Dan Zoo’, has been inaugurated in Bahria Town, much to the delight of visitors.
Dan Zoo is spread over an area of 70 acres and has been divided into several sections for each animal category. The opening ceremony of the zoo, which is said to be of international standards, was attended by a large number of people including famous personalities belonging to the fields of business, showbiz, sports and media. Admiral (retired) Ahmad Hayat who happens to be the COO of Bahria Town, was the chief guest at the event.
After cutting the inaugural ribbon, Mr. Hayat said, “Dan Zoo is a new addition to Karachi’s tourist attractions. Bahria Town stays committed to redefine community lifestyle and concept of healthy entertainment in Pakistan.” He further added that the opening of Pakistan’s first day and night zoo will provide Bahria Town residents an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful evenings of the coastal city.

He announced that the zoo provides a home to a large number of local and exotic animals including the African lion, white lion, Bengal tiger, Cheetah, Asian black bear, various types of deer, crocodile, ostriches, peacocks and several types of ducks.
Apart from seeing the zoo on foot, visitors will also have the option of using golf carts called ‘Wild on Wheels’ for visiting different parts of the zoo.
Tickets for entering the zoo are priced at Rs 250 for children aged four to twelve years and Rs 450 for children aged 12 years and up while children under four years can enter for free. The buggy, boat and water cycle ride are charged separately.
It seems like a place one should definitely visit!
