The football teams of Foundation Public School (FPS) and Head Start School participated in a football tournament in Dubai from December 15th to 21st, 2017.
There were many teams from different campuses in the under 14 tournament. The combined teams, called the FPHS comprised of students from different campuses including FPHS Leopards and FPHS Rovers from the DHA campus, FPHS Lions and FPHS Tigers from Mohammed Ali Society campus, FPHS All Star and FPHS Hyderabad.
Teams from UAE included Aesa Dubai Hawks, Aesa Sharjah, Aesa Abu Dhabi Kings and Aesa Al-ain Tigers.
The FPHS junior team from DHA campus and FPHS junior team from Mohammed Ali campus both reached the semi-finals in their respective pools. For the final match players of both the campuses were combined together to form a team called FPHS Pakistan to play against Aesa Abu Dhabi Kings. Players in FPHS Pakistan included Enshaal Nauman, Wasay Najam, Ayaan Imad, M. Salman, Subhan Nafees, Sufyan Danish, Abdullah Khan, Ammar Nooruddin, Mohammad Ali, Ismail Rehan and Aman Adeel.
The Pakistani team played very well and gave a tough time to the host team but unfortunately lost the final to Abu Dhabi Kings 2-0.
The team was led to the finals by head coach Mr. Murad Husain who organized the entire trip and a lot of hard work was put in by DHA Junior campus in-house coach, Mr. Farrukh Aslam, who guided the players throughout the tournament.
Enshaal Nauman of FPS DHA Junior campus scored five goals in the entire tournament while HSS student Salman was the ‘Player of the Tournament’ for scoring the most goals. This event not only gave international exposure to the students but also helped them learn how to play as a team with discipline and being away from home at such a young age. The principal of DHA campus, Mrs. Ronilla Singh, kept the parents updated regarding the children’s well being and encouraged them through numerous motivational messages.
We are proud of our little players and wish them the best for future tournaments!
